With all the available technology at our fingertips, with Orbitz, Travelocity, Cheap Air, etc available on every smart phone, why would someone need to use a travel agent?
Honestly, you don’t.
Really.
But, if you’re traveling someone you’ve not been, say Peru, and you know travel scams are rampant, wouldn’t you feel better talking to someone that spends their life doing this type of work? Wouldn’t you feel better if that person has been to Peru? Or wherever you’re headed. It’s nice to have first-hand knowledge of the area, or company, or resort chain you are looking to visit.
Most agents, that are around today, have been around a while. September 11th changed the world, especially the world of travel. Many companies that were around then are not still in business. It’s also not a business many young people think of going into…sure they all love to travel, but view the industry through “Travelocity” eyes.
A travel agent can answer your questions, guide you on destinations, explain cultural differences and expectations, and put all your plans together correctly.
So, even if you use Travelocity to find what you want, when you want it, and for the price you want, I’d recommend calling an agent…you can ask questions, get details, and feel comfortable with the person you’re putting 1000’s of dollars down on your vacation…also, I’ve often been able to get the same package for less than shown on any of those other travel sites!
Finally, when you’re investing in your time off, do it with a professional, knowledgeable, travel agent.
Let’s Go Travel,
